Why is the supercharger the most fault-prone assembly on an excavator engine?

Since the rated working speed of the supercharger is above 130,000 rpm, and it is located at the outlet of the exhaust manifold, the temperature is extremely high (above 800 ℃), and the inlet and exhaust pressures are also high, that is, high temperature, high pressure, and high speed. The requirements for lubrication, cooling and sealing of the compressor are relatively high. In order to ensure the service life of the supercharger, the lubrication and cooling of the supercharger floating bearing should be ensured in the design. At the same time, the following points are required in use:

① After the engine is started, it should run at idle speed for 3-5 minutes. Do not load immediately to ensure the supercharger is well lubricated. The main reason is that the supercharger is on top of the engine. If the supercharger starts running at a high speed immediately after the engine is started, the oil pressure cannot rise in time to supply oil to the supercharger, resulting in lack of oil to damage the supercharger, or even burn out the entire supercharger.

② The idle time should not be too long, generally not more than 10 minutes, which may easily lead to oil leakage at the compressor end.

③ Do not turn off the engine immediately before stopping, run at idle speed for 3-5 minutes, reduce the speed of the supercharger and the temperature of the exhaust system to prevent the occurrence of failures such as coking of the regenerated oil and burning of the bearings. Frequent and incorrect use can damage the supercharger.

④For an engine that has not been used for a long time (generally more than 7 days) or an engine with a new supercharger, oil should be added to the oil inlet of the supercharger before use, otherwise it will reduce the life of the supercharger or damage the supercharger due to poor lubrication. .

⑤ Regularly check whether there is loose air leakage/oil leakage at each connection part, and whether the oil return pipe is unobstructed. If there is, it should be eliminated in time.

⑥ Make sure the air filter is clean and replace it regularly as needed.

⑦ Regularly change the oil/_oil filter.

⑧ Regularly check the radial and axial clearance of the supercharger shaft. The axial clearance is not more than 0.15mm, and the radial clearance is: the clearance between the impeller and the pressure shell is not less than 0.10mm, otherwise, please professional repair, so as not to expand the loss.
